Brooklind with Cuarenta cousins

On Fathers Day The Cuarentas and Stephen's mom came over and I cooked them all corn beef, cabbage, red potatoes, carrots, rolls, and they brought desert. The little boys loved it and were raving about how juciy the meat was. It made me laugh. Michael for his birthday got rock band and brought it over so we were all playing. Brooklind got a kick out of watching them all play.

A few family updates

This past week Brooklind & I have been sick. Brooklind just is a little congested, but me on the other hand ended up at the doctors today getting antibiotics for a sinus infection and ear infection. NO FUN AT ALL! The sinus and ear infection are painful. I haven't had an ear ache since I was a toddler. Yeah for meds though! I started the antibiotics and kinda feel it working a little bit.

Brooklind is laughing more and more. She still hates tummy time but we still do it, just for short periods of time. We did it yesterday and she totally had a picture pose and could hold her head completely up. Stephen and I were amazed so I ran to get the camera.

Brooklind still loves bath time. Tonight we gave her a bath and she just loves the water. She kicks it and splashes all over. She is just all smiles when shes in the bath.

Tomorrow is Stephens first Fathers day!

2 YEARS!

I LOVE YOU!!

June 13, 2010 - our 2 year anniversary mark.
My parents were in town so they stayed home with Brooklind while we went out together. We went to the Melting Pot in Irvine. Very good, but really expensive. I was so sad because we ate so much that we didn't have room for the chocolate fondue at the end and I got sick anyways (I think from all the cheese fondue)...so it kinda ruined my experience a little bit.

It was still nice to be with Stephen alone. We don't get any alone time anymore, but I love my little Brooklind. I just can't get over that we have been married two years. It feels like we have known each other alot longer. If you count the year we dated we have been together over 3 years.

Brooklind's 1st Beach day

Before we left for the beach...you can see her little flip flops. She is just too much fun to dress.

This was a cute family shot. Sorry for all of us being so white and no tan at all. We are almost blinding the camera. Plus I am still a little self-conscious of the baby fat.
This was after her feet were put in the cold water. Poor kid. It was pretty cold.

In the video you can see Brooklind lift her foot because the water is too cold.

She loved putting her feet in the sand. Shes so cute in her tankini with her belly hanging out!

Brooklind & Preslee

Brooklind & Preslee Facer met each other for the first time last week. It was so funny to look at Brooklind's face when Preslee would cry. She just couldn't figure out where it was coming from.

They are about 3 months apart, but it looks like way more than that in the picture. Preslee weighs what Brooklind weighed at birth (8lbs). It is crazy that Brooklind use to be that small.

Cereal Eating update

Brooklind absolutely loves her baby food and cereal. I am giving her step 1 right now of baby food with cereal once a day. She totally loves it and sleeps through the night now because she doesn't wake up in the middle of the night hungry. She knows when we sit her in her high chair that its food time. She caught on pretty quick on how to use the spoon. Its funny to watch her eating because she smiles the whole time. She just loves it!

4 months old today!!

Brooklind is officially 4 months old today. I can't believe it! I took her to the doctor for her 4 month check up and shots. She was not very happy with the nurse after getting her shots. Brooklind gave her a dirty look afterward, like as if she was thinking how could you???
(waiting for the doctor - holding both her toy and pacifier)

Height: 26.5 inches (97 percentile)
Weight: 14 lbs 9oz (73 percentile)
Head: 42.5cm ( 87 percentile)

The doctor was just raving about how well she is growing and developing. The doctor said she has the strength of a 6 month old. So I guess that's pretty cool. She called her a "thriving baby" which is funny because we have Kaiser and that's their slogan. I was explaining to the doctor that Brooklind hates tummy time so we tried it in the office. Brookind lifted her body up with both arms and her whole head & neck came up too. Than she rolled over for the first time. I brought her home and she lifted herself up again, but didn't roll over. Of course the first time she does both shes at the doctors office....haha. I was so thrilled to see her do it though. The things that I get excited about these days... I guess I just love being a mom!

This past week Brooklind has had three nights where she had slept the ENTIRE night. I mean I am talking from 10pm to like 9 or 10am the next day. It is so great! I haven't had this good of sleep for awhile.

Also this week are started experimenting giving her baby food with rice cereal. She loves it!!! The doctor said if she is accepting the spoon and swallowing to go for it along with her formula too.

Well I guess that is it for now....this weekend Stephen & I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary so my parents will be in town to watch Brooklind. I just can't believe we have a 4 month old and we have been married for 2 years. It is so crazy!

My goal to be that skinny again and to fit into my dress - I am going to start watching what I eat (to a certain extent) and workout big time!! We have a gym in our apartment complex, so I need to use it.

Fountain Valley Ward Bonfire

Tonight we had a ward bonfire. We had a very nice group of people show up. All the kids had a blast in the sand and roasting marshmallows. We made s'mores too. I brought all the goodies so we could make the s'mores (part of my calling duties of being on the activity committee). I thought it was a success. I am so grateful for my husband in getting off work a little early so he could support me and go with me this evening. It was a great help or else I would have had to bring all the stuff and Brooklind by myself.
It was Brooklinds first time at the beach and seeing a fire. She was just way into watching the fire going. At one point she got a little bored and started falling asleep.

Everyone just loved greeting Brooklind. She looks so cute even all bundled up. Beanie and everything. It was a nice family outing and nice for me to get out of the house. I have been needing to get out alot lately. I am getting a little cabin fever lately and going a little crazy.

Tonight after we got home I was kissing Brooklind on her cheek over and over again and she started doing a full on laugh/giggle. She laughs sooooo cute. But of course she wouldn't do it again.
Today well I was at home a little bored while Brooklind was napping, I decided to color my hair. So as you can see in the picture above its darker and has some red in it. Everyone at the bonfire thought I went and had it done, but nope I did it. I like it! Well mainly because its a change.
Well off to bed...

Memorial Weekend 2010

We to to Big Bear to my parents place this Memorial Day. It was very relaxing. My parents loved being with Brooklind because she smiles, laughs, more interactive, etc. She is just fun to play with! My dad got his puppets out to play with Brooklind (he used to teach sunbeams kids back in the day and would use puppets).

We took a little off road adventure to Holcomb valley. About 8 miles from big Bear Lake. It was fun to see all the old gold mine spots and places where they use to hang people, where the first born child of Holcomb Valley was born, and may more. My bother Steve decided on this adventure because he wanted to take his metal detector. All he found was some old bullet shells, old school nails, and a rusty old pocket knife. It was fun though.

Well we were there we went to church to my parents ward in Big Bear. It was nice. Everyone there is so friendly. We took many pictures of Brooklind in her cute church dress too.

Almost 4 months old

I cannot believe that Brooklind is going to be 4 months old on June 8. It is so crazy. It just seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital giving birth to her! As of May she was about 12lbs and 24 inches long. She is a little piggy, so I am sure she weighs much more now. Just within the last 2 weeks she has grown so much.

She now grabs toys, she grabs her bottle and tried to get it to her mouth because she is aware of what it is now. She loves playing with her toys now. She wants attention a majority of the time and will get sad if you leave the room (sometimes she does).
I have gotten her to do a true laugh/ giggle twice and it only works when I have her in front of a mirror. She just talks all the time too. Here is a video:
